"I probably will... I'll probably apologize to Kifer, too," I mutter.
I really did feel bad for hitting him that hard.
Even if he hurt Trevor without the boy's consent, I'd still feel bad for kicking him.
I don't know why...
Kind soul or some shit I guess.
"Uhh yeah?" I reply, looking up at him curiously.

I let out a sigh. I knew that was going to come up at some point.
"I had sex with him... Yeah..." I mumble, shifting my jaw;
"Then there was the battle and then he bandaged my injuries and whatnot... I ended up falling asleep next to him."
I felt a bit sick about having to say it... But then again I felt oddly better about saying it.

I let my head hit the cabinets behind us rather hard, mostly to keep myself from saying anything immediately stupid.
Then I sighed through my nose and was silent for a long moment while I got myself under control.
"..Why?" was all I managed to say after that.
I mean, I know I'd slept with Nicole that one time, but...
What did I do wrong?
I follow my why with that thought.
"Did I do something wrong?"

I figured I'd go and see if anyone was here, so I headed to the house. Looking around, I knocked on the door, waiting quietly as I leaned against the house wall.

I bite my lip at the bang his head caused, having it almost make me flinch.
Why indeed...
I was trying to think of something to say and then he added another question.
"You didn't do anything wrong. I swear, you didn't do anything wrong," I assure him.
He definitely didn't, that much I could say.
"I just... I'd been confused and then you were here and then you immediately had to leave..."
I was rambling now and I rub my eyes, feeling like an idiot.
"I'm just stupid... I'm sorry..."
If it makes you feel any better, we didn't have sex in my bed.

... I guess that's true.
"It is Kifer... What I found odd, was that he fixed me up. He was opening up to me," I tell him, quietly, but I still say it.
"He came after me when I ran off to the SPH territory... I mean, so did Matthew and Raider, but I didn't think he would."
I was actually thinking about the things Kifer had done and I was wondering what had changed in him.
He had been nice to me... Caring in a strange sort of way.
And when he talked about my markings and how I could see that he liked to look at them.
That helped me a lot more than I had thought.

My mouth tasted bitter.
I wanted badly to say that he had been saying those things purely to be able to manipulate her- and he probably was- but she seemed to be hanging onto that idea like a blind man to light.
So I didn't say it.
Instead, I said;
"I don't know enough about Kifer to pass jugement. Just.. talk to Alison about it or something. I don't want you ending up like Trevor, willing or not."
I shifted so I could wrap both arms around her and pulled her close.
"You're everything to me. And I don't know what I'd do if something like that happened to you." I said, my voice quiet.

I skipped to the door and opened it, a surprised expression on my face when I saw him.
"Who're you again?"
I don't think I'd seen him before.
And my old habits from the Wastes weren't dead yet; I could still remember that I'd run from the Slavers.
My grip subconciously shifted to the Desert Eagle on my waist.

I watched him as he thought, staying quiet.
Ben was so different from when I first met him those years ago...
All because I punched him in the face.
Go figure.
And here I was in this awkward as all out situation with my fiance.
I curl up against him when he accepted me into his arms, letting my eyes close.
At least he was still talking to me... I wasn't sure I could have handled the silent treatment that people usually did.
"I'm sorry, babe..." I whisper, rubbing his cheek softly, "I'm not the brightest ray in the sunlight."
Ha. Understatement.
"I think I know of something to help cheer us both up."

I relax slightly.
"You mean Stella? Because Alison hasn't been out of her room in awhile." I say. "So you might want to clear things up with Stella before you go back to working."
My hand still didn't move off my gun.

"It's alright. I love you anyways."
I kiss the top of her head, resting my chin there and closing my eyes.
I open them a bit again at her next statement.
"Oh? What would that be?"
Please don't be sex. For once, I wasn't in the mood..

I smile and slip my hand into his, just sitting there.
"That race we've both been wanting," I reply, looking up at him.
It'd be an ideal way to clear our heads because we'd be the only two on the track...
Out in the open air with just our horses.
Seemed pretty damn great right now.

I squeeze her hand, smiling at her suggestion.
"That sounds like a brilliant idea... and Seven's been biting at the bit for a race since yesterday."
And a good way to get the negative feelings out.. racing always helped with that.
"Which horse will you be on..? "

"I think I'll take Rez out for a run today," I tell him, running a finger down his throat.
"He's been a little depressed lately."
I've let him roam around, but he was still in a mood.

I nodded, and quickly got the fuck out of there. I walked over to War Paint, quickly untying her rope, and resting her saddle on her back, He made sure it was tacked down, and got onto it, nudging her with my heel, pulling her out of the stable and towards the south pasture.

I grin and give her a quick kiss.
"I don't remember the last time I've been able to race just mutt horses. Lets go."
I stand, tugging lightly at my now damp clothes and offering her a hand.

[Stella]

I sat on the fence, watching Summer and some of the other gentler horses grazing peacefully.
They were so much...easier.. to be around than the mutt horses.
I'd had too much to do with the aggressive breed lately.. I'd made poor Ben do a bit more than his fair share earlier.
But with Alison out for god knew how long, it was unavoidable. She'd done alot more work around here than I'd previously realized.

I flinch lightly at the shout, running a hand through my hair.
My once perky demeanor had been kind of dampened by the responsibility dumped on me.
The voice was vaguely familiar, though..
I half turned on the fence, dropping my hands to my lap.
"hey!" I called back, though my voice was kinda hoarse and didn't carry as much as I would have liked.

"I usually race pegasi or occasionally run about with Alistaire," I tell him, thinking about yesterday when we took off for the battle.
I take his hand and stand up shakily, stretching a little before hooking a finger in his pocket.
"Lessgo," I smile, tugging him out of the house.

I was perched on the roof of the barn, what I figured to be a safe distance from Silver if she decided to come back outside.
My shirt was bloodied from the punch Ben had given me earlier, though...

I press her lightly against the counter, resting my forehead on hers.

"Procrastinating." I said, kissing her nose.

I giggle and lick his cheek.
"C'monnnn... I'm getting all anxious now. Plus, Yara might show up to help me train with my sword," I add.
I'd sent word for him because I wanted to be ready if necessary.
The SPHs fight completely different than I had expected... Hence why I had been beaten so badly.
What I had received in the bag I got with my amulet was in fact Morvashi's skull. I thought it was a little creepy, but it made me smile nonetheless.
